ABOUT US

Pure Couture was founded 14 years ago by co-owners Beverley and Gill, who already had many years of experience as professional seamstresses.

Our beautifully styled boutique based in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire is home to some of most sought after Wedding Dress designers in the industry. With over 60 thoughtfully chosen sample gowns, with sizes ranging from 8-26, we believe we have something for everyone.

Our aim is to provide our brides with the best bridal experience possible.

At Pure Couture the fit of your wedding dress is one of the most important things to us, now with a whole team of highly experienced seamstresses and bridal consultants on site at all times, we will be able to guide you with honest and expert advice from the day you choose your beautiful dress to the day you walk down the aisle!

Once you have booked your appointment you may want to know what to expect at your consultation. Here are answers to our most frequently asked questions - do give us a call if you have any other queries!

When should I start looking for my Wedding Dress?

 

Be aware that wedding dresses can take up to 6 months to arrive with us here at the boutique. As soon as you have chosen your dress we will place the order with your chosen designer and your dress is made to order, specifically for you! So for this reason we recommend placing your order at least 8 months before your wedding to allow time for your dress to come in, as well as making any alterations you may need just before the big day. Many of our brides order their dress up to 18 months ahead of their wedding, but if you have already found your dress, however far in advance, don't be afraid to go for it!

 

What is my Wedding day isn’t that far away?

 

If you have less than 6 months until your wedding, there are also options, so don't feel like we can't help! Many of our designers offer rush delivery so that your order is put on priority and can arrive sooner than the normal delivery time.

 

Do I need an appointment?

 

Yes! Booking an appointment ensures that you have a consultant assigned to work with you personally, whether for Bridal or Bridesmaids – Saturday appointments tend to book up a few weeks in advance but weekday appointments are easier to book and these tend to be quieter and more flexible appointments. We often have more than one bride in the boutique in at a time, if you would prefer a private appointment, just let us know!

 

What should I wear/bring to my appointment?

 

We normally recommend to wear a strapless bra and nude coloured underwear is always best, but there are no rules, you should wear what you feel comfortable in, even if that means leaving your socks on! We have shoes of all sizes at the boutique should you like to try on your dress with a pair of heels, so it isn't necessary to bring your own. However, if bringing a pair of your own shoes which may be similar to the pair you may wear on the day would help with your decision making, please do.

 

Who should I bring to help me?

 

Bring the people who are important to your decision making! We recommend bringing just two guests along to your appointment as our little boutique can easily become crowded and bringing lots of guests can sometimes muddle your thoughts and be incredibly stressful. If you would like to bring more guests or would prefer a private appointment we offer VIP appointments on request.

 

Are children allowed?

 

​Whilst we love babies and children​ we do request you come without the little ones as our boutique is not toddler-proofed! Please call us if you would prefer to bring babies along as we can make special arrangements.

 

How long will my appointment last?

 

When you are choosing your dress we allow up to an hour and a half, so you have plenty of time to relax and select your gown without feeling rushed and stressed. You will have full assistance from one of our bridal consultants and we also have our seamstresses on hand to advise on how the dress can be adapted and fitted to your own requirements.

Fitting appointments to have your own gown pinned by the seamstress last for half an hour.

 

Can I take photos?

 

We advise not to,  we totally agree that photos can be helpful when choosing your dress, but we make sure our seamstresses are always on hand to advise you how a dress will look when in the correct size and altered to you specifically. 

 

When should I arrange my fittings?

 

We start your fittings around six weeks before your wedding, with a second appointment around two-four weeks before the big day. You will collect your dress just a couple of days before the big day after it has been beautifully pressed and had all it’s final checks. We unfortunately can't offer alterations on dresses purchased elsewhere.

 

What about weight change?

 

We always check the fit of your dress close to the big day and are on hand for last minute adjustments. If you are planning drastic weight loss, please speak to one of our seamstresses to discuss sizing.
